In this issue we review the World Health Organization's Global Health Report on the potential of voucher programs in improving coverage. We highlight interesting mapping technology that visualizes distance to care using a mix of descriptive data from the Global Maternal Health Conference and profile the Uganda voucher program.We also feature a systematic analysis on the use of vouchers in reproductive health programs in various developing countries and a review of the Bangladesh maternal voucher scheme

The third issue of the RH Vouchers Quarterly Newsletter highlights key discussions from the second technical advisory committee meeting held on June 11, in Washington DC. You will also find a summary profile of the Bangladesh voucher scheme as one the five countries that the evaluation is focusing on. In the publications section it features Shakil and Khan’s review of the lessons learnt from the Bangladesh program and the latest annual compendium profiling 40 social franchising programs, about half of which use vouchers to stimulate demand and target subsidies.

The second  issue of the RH Vouchers project quarterly newsletter profiled the Kenya Output-based Aid (OBA) program and share updates on the evaluation’s population and health facility baselines, featured Population Council's distinguished scholar Anrudh Jain’s commentary on two key indicators to monitor in RH programs that incentivize facility based delivery and a summary of several new publications with management lessons for healthcare finance projects.
